Professional Experience
Karina works with the Corporate/Commercial team. She advises clients and assists senior counsel on a wide variety of business law matters, and has particular experience working with small businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups, artists, and digital creators on solutions that help them avoid costly legal mistakes, and increase the growth and profitability of their business.
Karina has worked with clients on matters such as:
Acting for vendors and purchasers in share and asset sales and purchases from start to finish, including negotiating terms, conducting due diligence and preparing all closing documents;
Drafting contracts for start-ups and small businesses, including business to business agreements, client services agreements, licensing agreements, and terms of use agreements; and
Navigating regulatory requirements for data protection and product labelling and packaging, as well as assisting cannabis businesses with compliance under the Cannabis Act.
