Shawn practices in the areas of Banking & Insolvency and Commercial Real Estate. Shawn has extensive experience with development and acquisition financing, equipment leasing, including aircraft and vessels, First Nations transactions, and syndicated loans, with particular expertise involving non-resident lenders and borrowers. Shawn acts for creditors in commercial foreclosures, restructuring and other security enforcement, proceedings, receivership, bankruptcy, liquidations and for landlords in tenant insolvencies. In the context of Commercial Real Estate, Shawn has expertise in portfolio and bulk acquisitions/sales, resort and luxury residential acquisitions/sales, including strata hotel, fractional interests and private residence clubs, particularly for REIT and non-resident clients.
Shawn has been a past lecturer and author for the Continuing Legal Education Society on real estate and insolvency topics.
