Andrew represents clients from both the private sector and the public sector, including individuals, private and public companies, partnerships, trusts, financial institutions, the Province of British Columbia, and numerous school districts. His work includes the financing and development of real estate and infrastructure projects, including land assembly, expropriation, rezoning, subdivision, contract drafting, tendering, administration and enforcement, and dispute resolution. Recent examples include:
- The Residences at Fairmont Coal Harbour, a hotel, retail and residential project; and
- Woodwards Redevelopment, a market and non-market housing, office, education and retail project.
Andrew also has experience with multi-party projects that involve one or more public sector entities.
Andrew advises on trade law matters, including competition law issues and the identification, acquisition, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He is a trade-mark agent, registered to practice before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the U.S. Patent and Trade-Mark Office. He is experienced in advising on all aspects of business law, including incorporation and organization of appropriate entities, acquisition of tangible and intangible assets, establishment of internal and external contracts including franchise systems where appropriate, negotiating various forms of private and public financing, and advising on sale and other exit strategies
Andrew has been awarded a BV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is an Associate Member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and a Member of the Vancouver Board of Trade, Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, Patent and Trade-Mark Association of British Columbia, and is the past President and Director of the H.R. MacMillan Space Center Society.
